Terms of Service

By using Phonemify, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

1. What Phonemify does

Phonemify is an interactive English pronunciation and clarity coach. You record yourself speaking a sentence or free-speaking, and the app sends your recording to Microsoft Azure Speech Services and Google Gemini to score your pronunciation and provide coaching tips.

2. Accounts & usage limits

• Free trial: Visitors may try a limited number of recordings per month without signing in.
• Google sign-in: Signing in with a Google account unlocks your personal practice history, progress tracking across devices, and a higher monthly practice allowance.
• Fair use: Because each recording incurs real speech-analysis and AI API costs (Azure and Gemini), monthly quotas apply per user and per anonymous visitor. Creating multiple accounts or bypassing usage limits to abuse API quotas may result in account suspension.

3. Audio & content you submit

When you record audio or paste text to generate practice sentences, you grant Phonemify permission to transmit that audio and text to our upstream providers (Microsoft Azure and Google Gemini) solely to provide the pronunciation assessment and coaching features to you. Do not record or submit confidential or sensitive personal information. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how data is handled.

4. Coaching disclaimer & no warranty

Phonemify is an automated language-practice tool, not a certified speech-language pathology or medical service. Automated phoneme scoring and AI-generated tips can occasionally misread accents, background noise, or microphone artifacts. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Phonemify and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and total liability for any claim shall not exceed $20.

6. Account termination

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that abuse the service or violate these terms. You may stop using Phonemify or request deletion of your account at any time.
